A Non-Resolute New Year
Over the years, I have been asked by many people what my ‘NewYear’s Resolution’ is during the holiday season. Here is a sampling of reactions:
Emily at seven: “Does it matter?” (irrelevant)
Emily at thirteen: “I don’t know, I guess I’ll be nicer or something. I don’t see what the big deal is, though. I can do that any time.” (bothered)
Emily at nineteen: “Everything I’d like to change I’m always working at. I don’t need the New Year to tell me what and when to make an effort.” (too-legit-to-quit)
Emily at twenty-three: “I don’t celebrate holidays. What’s the point? It’s just another day.” (disillusioned)
Emily at twenty-nine: “Effort should be continuous. The New Year may provide greater effort, but only because of the nature of karmic force and its tendency to increase when attention is paid.” (oh, yeah, so wise)
Emily at thirty-one: (clears throat, steps up on soapbox)
For my very first-ever actual New year’s Resolution, in response to the request made addendum to the Great Article Swap Part Deux on the Precious Metal Blog, I offer the following.
This coming year, 2010, year of the Tiger, I Resolve to not be resolved about anything, loosening up my conceptual hangups around form, feeling, perception, conceptual thinking and consciousness in all its forms. Whether this produces a desired effect is irrelevant (word of the day!).
That is all. Please enjoy the following educational video, in the hopes that it will demonstrate my serious resolution to not being resolved. Thank you.

Love it!!!! lol
